PolyWorks® Sales Increased by 28% in 3D Metrology Markets Worldwide in Fiscal Year 2011

QUEBEC, QC, CANADA, April 17, 2012 – InnovMetric Software Inc. proudly announced today that in fiscal year 2011 (ending March 31, 2012), its global sales revenue increased by 28% compared to the previous fiscal year. Over a period of two years, InnovMetric’s global sales revenue has increased by 69%, and the sales of its PolyWorks licenses have surged by 190% in the portable probing market.

The three major market trends that have transformed InnovMetric's business model over the past years, and that have been key contributing factors in the steady progression of its PolyWorks license sales worldwide, are as follows:

  • A significant number of automotive, aerospace, and consumer product OEMs and their related business partners have deployed PolyWorks as their universal 3D metrology software platform to reduce training costs, ensure common metrology workflows through their organization, and enable corporate-wide measurement result sharing.
  • The implementation of point-cloud 3D digitizing technologies has significantly accelerated in emerging markets, such as China, India, Brazil, and Thailand; high-end industrial customers in these markets have opted for PolyWorks—the only point-cloud-based metrology solution that also offers professional single-point probing capabilities.

  • Customized solutions, based on the PolyWorks off-the-shelf version and its customizable interface and macro-programming language, are increasingly deployed within production contexts.
