Hints for Inspecting Thin Parts Efficiently
February 14, 2019 - 11:00 am
Inspecting thin parts made of sheet metal, plastic, or composite material poses a variety of challenges, whether you are using touch-probing or noncontact digitizing measurement tools. PolyWorks® offers a set of tools that facilitate thin part inspection as well as an application mode that presets values so your measurements are made with optimal parameters.
In just 15 minutes, you’ll learn how to accurately measure the following on a sheet metal part:
- The contact plane the part rests on.
- Punched holes, regardless of how thick the material is.
- Holes where threaded inserts or weld nuts are installed.
What’s more, you’ll see how this can be easily done when probing and noncontact digitizing.
