InnovMetric Software Sells its 1000th License of PolyWorks®

InnovMetric Software today announced delivery of its 1000th license of PolyWorks, InnovMetric’s outstanding high density point cloud inspection and modeling software solution. PolyWorks, whose sales have doubled every year since its debut in 1994, is now helping manufacturers in more than 28 countries optimize their quality control and reverse-engineering processes. Today, PolyWorks has earned its position as the Number One point cloud processing solution in the automotive industry, which represents more than 50% of its customer base.

Our success is based on our superior technology, a continuous market feedback approach, and the tremendous creativity of our people”, explains Marc Soucy, President of InnovMetric. “Our genuine commitment to provide customers with the most advanced tools for their point cloud processing tasks has earned PolyWorks a solid reputation and an unchallenged leadership position in the Inspection and Modeling software industry. This milestone is a testimony to the solid reputation PolyWorks has built over the years”.

It is extremely rewarding for us to hear customers declare that PolyWorks is an important factor in the reduction of their overall production costs”, says Hans-Peter Duwe, President of Duwe 3-D Software and Consulting, distributor of PolyWorks in Germany. “Our customers appreciate PolyWorks for its accurate results, the control it gives end users through tolerances, and the continuous feedback it provides throughout their various processing operations. The German automotive industry is known throughout the world for its high standards and its strict commitment to top quality, which makes it a very difficult market to penetrate. Now that we count Audi, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Porsche, and Volkswagen among our customers, we can proudly confirm that PolyWorks is accepted as the reference for point cloud inspection in the industry”, Duwe concludes.

In its rocket ride to the 1,000th seat milestone, PolyWorks’ development has remained focused on market feedback. “The people at InnovMetric are very eager to learn about their customers’ manufacturing processes, and about how PolyWorks can contribute to increase their efficiency”, says Harry Mizuhara, of Tokyo-Boeki Techno-System Ltd, distributor of PolyWorks in Japan. “InnovMetric has made it its business to listen to the people who work with the software and transform their feedback into ground-breaking innovations. For example, a powerful macro scripting language for automating inspection sequences was developed to respond to Toyota Motor’s need for an automatic solution in tune with their standardized and repetitive manufacturing processes”, Mizuhara continues.

Another key factor of the success of PolyWorks is the quality of the technical support available to end users around the world. “While conducting a project, I know I always have immediate access to application engineers for technical assistance”, declares Jon Lash, Director of special projects at Johnson Atelier, a Technical Institute for Sculpture in New Jersey, USA. “Thanks to InnovMetric’s comprehensive training and judicious technical support, we are able to recreate magnificent enlarged sculptures 40 feet in height within a 2-week period, instead of the 3 months that it used to take us. Their continuous support is a crucial part of the success of our projects”.
